Soz 4 real!

I know, I know, almost a week and not a single post. I've been a very naughty boy and I insist upon being spanked.

I only wish I had more to talk about. My camera has been dead since I'm too lazy to even blog, you all know I didn't plug in my camera to be charged. It's on my to-do list tonight I promise!

So last week was my first full week of school and I have to tell you I've really enjoyed myself. It's been a lot of fun thus far meeting people and seeing all of the crazy ridiculous people that call this place their school as well. There have been some LOOKS girl, trust. There's also been way too much Ed Hardy and the like for my tastes. It makes me sad that I own an Ed Hardy hat, but I donated it to charity. I also removed the picture of me wearing it from Facebook, and I own the original. Phew!

I've been jotting down some blog talk topics in a little notebook I've started to carry around. And I promise I will do my best to start taking pictures and getting really deep into blogging on this thing to let you all know how fashion school is and how I'm coming along in my classes. I have actually already tested out of my Technology for Business Applications class, so I don't have to sit through remedial computers anymore. It's ridiculous how simple that class is, even though the test was a bit of a challenge. Yours truly had no problems though, obvies.

My look today:
- Plaid Jacket
- White button down shirt
- Black check tie
- Dark blue slim leg jeans
- Calf high boots

Jeans tucked into boots loosely with the collar popped on the shirt (it doesn't look as douchey as it sounds) with the sleeves on the jacket rolled up. It's a good look, trust me. I'll take pictures later I PROMISE, and I will add them to the bottom of this post.

Bye!

Straighties!

I'm currently sitting in what can only be descibed as death, but infinetly more boring.

Welcome to Technology for Business Applications. It is essentially a basic knowledge of HOW to use a computer. He's literally going over things like how to START a program. The best part about this class? I can test out of it; meaning that I can take a test and show my proficiency in computers and never be this bored ever again.

Something interesting did happen today, faithful readers. I made a friend! Or rather, I spoke to someone for more than 5 minutes outside of the class room. Casually sitting out in the main outdoor area people watching (more on that later) and she sat down next to me to compliment me on my vest. It was fun. She's from Orange County and comes to our gorgeous LA campus once a week. If you see her out and about, or sitting alone, on campus, say hello! I'll be sure to remember her name next Friday... She's in fashion design though!

Now... the people watching. I seem to have found a conglomerate of straight hipster guys at FIDM. There's probably... 5 of them, which trust me is a lot at this school. I'm often the only guy in any of my classes, and I'm, obviously, as queer as a 3-dollar bill. They had the typical uniform, skinny jeans, t-shirt, cardigan, sneakers, and a couple of them had a cap on representing something ironic I'm sure. One was a step ahead of his peers however and was wearing my current obsession, the Fox Fur Key chain. His was black, which is kind of lame, but it's the only one I've seen since I've been here. Since I won't wear real fur I don't own one of these beauties myself but when I find a Faux-Fur that doesn't remind me of a bad anime costume, believe there will be photos!

There were some outlandish outfits like there usually are, and no I didn't take pictures. My favorite of the day was the 6'1 boy who was probably about 210lbs, kinda "fat-skinny", wearing a navy blue blazer with a gorgeous broach, but then he ruined it with these hideous yoga style jodpur pants. Ew.

Anyways kids, that's all for now. I was talking to BryanBoy yesterday and told him about the millions of BB lookalikes there are at FIDM. Let's see if I can't get the motivation to do a Bryan Boy or not? style feature... Coming soon!

We'll see ya tomorrow bitches!

Day 1 and an Introduction

Hello,

I kept thinking to myself, sitting alone on the campus of FIDM outside, how much would other people maybe like to peer into the world where young fashionistas are about to take the industry by storm. The possible future leaders and style and design could be sitting in a classroom with me (probably not) or eating that delicious looking salad just across the way.

My name is Brayden. I'm in my first quester here at FIDM and am majoring in Merchandise Marketing. Over the last 72 hours I've learned something very important:

I'm not in Toronto anymore.

This little blog of mine will be a glimpse, possibly even a passing glance, at what it's like to go to fashion school. Mind you I'm not the one who will be designing anything or sewing through my fingers (although I've done it once, and it sucked) I will be letting you know how it is here in downtown LA and how much I want to lose my mind.

I think it's too soon for introductions really. I do like to leave something to the imagination, afterall you may think I'm not stylish enough for your tastes and just run off and read BryanBoy some more. So for now I'll let you minds run wild, and get right down to the nitty-gritty of it all.

Day 1 has been nice so far. It's about 72 degrees out here in SoCal in the beginning of January (jealous?) which this Canadian can't really complain about... yet. My first instructor of the day was a GM for the Mid-Pacific islands for Chanel, which is obviously amazing, and we dove right into the materials and introduced ourselves. Later in the day we have History of Costume, which I'm dying to get to.

I'll leave you for now, we don't want to make this too long-winded and boring although I'm certain I passed that point a long, long time ago.

Talk to you soon kids. and remember to dress up! Coming soon: FIDM's very first look of the day.
